Yea the Jacob body thing is weird. Actually, The Black Smoke and Jacob don't really take over the bodies. They just have the ability to make themselves any figure that they want (hence why Christian is running around all the time even though he is dead, makes me think that Jacob resembled him at some points). So, yea, maybe Sayid isn't taken over, only because there isn't another body around, and I wasn't sure if they could actually take over bodies or not. It makes me think they can take over bodies, though, going back to the Christian thing. His body was missing from the coffin AND on the plane in the alternate reality.
I like your idea for whatever happened happened, beats my confusing whatever it was idea. I think that is probably right, because it makes the most sense. Jack/Locke communicating kind of hinted towards that, as well as Desmond being on the plane, and Claire in the same car as Kate. One thing I really liked was when Charlie said "I was supposed to die" and what not to Jack, just as Desmond had told him when he was on the island, when he went to the Hydra. The only thing I don't get is how was John able to go to the walkabout, and how is Hurley the luckiest man alive, if both of them obviously lived the opposite pre-crash. Remember, nothing pre-crash actually changed. So, I figure they are both lying, and none of what they are saying is actually true.
^I just don't get if the island stuff is going to be led into by the crash, how? When the plane went over the island, it was rusted up, covered in sea life underwater. Maybe that meant something?? And when Juliet said, "it worked" to Miles (not really but yea), we know that that alternate reality is real, AND the island life is real, but how come none of the survivors remember the alternate plane ride? Just confuses me...
Am I the only one that watched these two episodes 3 times so far? lol...
