Almost half of drivers, admit that songs by artists such as Eminem, Dizzee Rascal and Jay-Z, have an adverse effect on their mood an behaviour while driving.

Nearly one in five drivers say that rap or hip hop music makes them aggressive behind the wheel.

Just six per cent say that listening to rap or hip hop helps relaxes them on the road.

By contrast, drivers listening to classical music should be the safest as more than half say it soothes them.

Eminem's 'The Real Slim Shady' is motorists' favourite rap track with three in 10 choosing it, compared to one in four picking Dizzee Rascal's 'Dance Wiv Me'.

Previous research has found that two thirds of drivers believe that music can significantly influence a motorist's mood and put them at risk of accidents and road rage.

But the survey of over 2,000 drivers by Auto Trader magazine is the first to quiz motorists about their music.

In contrast to rap or hip hop, just one per cent of drivers say that classical music makes them aggressive.

And the equivalent figures for commercial pop, dance and classic rock music are two, six and six per cent respectively.

Neil Grieg, director of policy and research at road safety charity the Institute of Advanced Motorists, said: "We all know the drivers who play loud, pounding rap music where you can hear the ground shake before they arrive.

"Police crash investigation reports do not say what music people were listening to before an accident, so it comes down to self-reporting, opinion research.

"If people recognise within themselves that they were listening to a certain type of music when they had road rage problems or crashes, it would be worth them considering changing the music.

"But if you listen to rap music in the car, you are most likely to be young and male and unfortunately that is the target group least likely to listen to road safety advice."

if mafuckaz allow rap to influence their driving ability, then their license should be revoked until they can listen to Eminem without having road rage, honestly, this is the most ridiculous shit i've ever heard....next they'll say country music makes people depressed & wanna kill themselves....
